What is Vancouver?

Vancouver is a place everyone loves to visit

A place that has phenomenal scenery and views of the city

A place where you can enjoy the sunshine during the summer

A place where we have great sport teams to cheer on

A place where bikes and roller blades are commonplace

A place that invites multiculturalism

A place where you see waves crashing onto the sandy beaches

A place that offers many unique restaurant choices

A place where you hear the wind moving swiftly in the night

A place where you can play sports on the smooth grassy fields

A place where you see the morning sunrise

And a place where you see the beautiful blue sky

Vancouver is a place you call home

A Hockey Game

Hockey is like a roller coaster
which has its emotional highs and lows
like surfing on a tidal wave
like losing your true love
like being stung by a bee, like being struck by a
lightning bolt, like being defeated in a war.
a roar from a crowd
a flying puck jetting through the air
a zebra tramples over enemies
like a battle between gladiators,
like shooting your arrow and finding its mark
like sirens from a fire truck
a soaring eagle attacking its prey, a fish flowing
up the current
like "The Streets Have No Name"
like burger and fries
a bond fire on a beach, like eating ice cream
on a hot sunny day, like being at
a movie munching on popcorn, like going
to the PNE and awaiting your very
first roller coaster ride to happen and
anticipating for the excitement and thrill of it
like eating mini donuts at the fair
like pigs rolling around in the mud
like a flash mob in the mall
and a knight ready for battle, like protestors rioting
in the city, like gum stuck to your pants
like twenty men walking out of the locker room
like tripping, slashing, hooking and unsportsmanlike
conduct is like a war zone on ice
like winning the lottery
and the best game ever in the world

upon

friend

creating lasting memories

The Inside Touch

Cakes are a complex food
The outside appearance displays happiness and joy
However what's on the inside is tantalizing

This dessert cannot be appreciated by its smell
Most time you will experience a dull blandness
Even though at times you may enjoy the cocoa fragrance

However once you take a bite, you can feel the love & care
And appreciation for the hard work & preparation
That goes into dark rich texture of this lifeless dessert

The fruit choices may look vibrant and cheery
But they will reveal one's true self once they've been eaten
The emotional colours will spread throughout one's body like wildfire

The succulent and delicate flavours will bring life
The most valuable part of the cake is not the cake itself
It is the person that opens their mind to endless possibilities

                                                         
                                                                             
                                                                    A World Of Darkness

My best friend growing up was named Alex

He was a phenomenal athlete

He loved playing all kinds of sports

But the sport he loved to play was hockey

Alex would always work his hardest to become a better player

In a matter of time all of his hard work would pay off

He then became a professional hockey player in the NHL

He played as the right wing for the Vancouver Canucks

Any hockey player would be honoured to play for a top Canadian team

His life was complete now having a lot of money

Parents, family and friends and having a perfect life

He would always help or care for his friends and family

He was also a teammate who would have a cheerful and great personality

Alex would be there to support and motivate his teammates

Alex would always think of others before himself

However, I realized that Alex had a dark side to him

There were times where he would feel depressed outside of hockey

He would never open up to anyone about these dark thoughts

Despite all of the material things he had in his life, all he truly thought about was death

On a fateful summer day at his home, Alex had taken his own life

Was it insanity that caused Alex to commit suicide?

I will never know the real truth behind his actions

He was loved by many but inside he felt isolated and helpless

My hope is that his loss will educate others on the symptoms of depression

Commander Oram was the captain of his submarine
He led a crew of 20 of the bravest men
He loved each man as his own brother
However Commander Oram was faced with the most difficult choice in life
In order to save lives, he must sacrifice the lives of others

Captain Oram took charge of the situation and remained calm under pressure
Once he knew the lives of his crew was in danger
He rose to the challenge and made the best decision for his crew
Was he a cold hearted man?
Did he not love his crew members?

Commander Oram understood the importance of his decision
He then committed to the plan to sacrifice some of his crew
Who lives and who dies?
Was Commander Oram's method the right way to decide?
Was that the right way to decide the fate of his crew?

Despite his best intentions I disagree with him
Those without families have no chance to have their own
The decision of sacrificing lives to save lives will never be easy
But in the end at least he made one

               I will be reviewing the most recent Transformers movie called "Age Of Extinction". In my opinion I thought that it was a very good action packed movie. I also thought that the story line was very similar as all of the other Transformers movies because there is always a new decepticon that appears at the beginning of the movie and then the autobots have to fight the decepticons while getting a unique object to the destination. Then the autobots always defeat the decepticons at the end.  It was a very exciting and enjoyable movie to watch but I just thought that the story line was not really different as the other ones. Basically they should change the story line of the movie which then it would be different and not alike the other movies. Having new autobots and decepticons was very magnificent to see. In conclusion I thought it was a really good movie to watch but I think they should try to change the story line up.
